Un perro bajo el anticielo, yace inmóvil ante la adversidad, atrapado. Nada puede hacer ante ello este inocente ser sin culpas, inmerso en la humanidad, sólo permanece estático en su profunda soledad, mientras la vida transcurre frente a sus ojos. El mundo se hace oscuro y hostil, sólo se acompaña del nacer y morir del día. El vacío se manifiesta en conjunto con la frialdad. Pronto la tierra terminará por consumirte. Nada se puede hacer mas que esperar socorro de otro, aquel que tal vez nunca llegue.

Goya’s famous etching: El Sueño de la Razón Produce Monstruos, or The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters

There are two possible interpretations of this: 
1) The extolling of Enlightenment ideals, in which he would be saying that if we stop reasoning, we will degenerate
2) Sleeping implies dreaming, and it’s important to NOT reason with the creative processes that are beyond one’s control. To reason with dreams or the process of creating does not create a masterpiece but a mutated monster.
